Pre-Novice & Novice Sectional Championships

December 8-10, 2022

This year's Sectional Championships for Pre-Novice and Novice levels took at the Ed Sackfield Arena & Fitness Centre in Richmond Hill. GCSC is proud to have sent three skaters to the championships: Brianna Dion (Pre-Novice), Victoria Power (Pre-Novice), and Makya Bertrand (Novice). We are proud to announce that our Pre-Novice Pairs Team (Brianna and Makya) placed second at this event. Way to go!!

On Thursday, December 1 the STAR 5+ Academy skaters celebrated with a send-off.

Sectional Series November Event

The final competition in this year's Sectional Series was held at Ed Sackfield Arena in Richmond Hill. Three GCSC Academy skaters participated in the competition: Makya Bertrand (Novice Men & Pre-Novice Pairs), Victoria Power (Pre-Novice Women), and Brianna Dion (Pre-Novice Women and Pairs). Congratulations to everyone on participating, with a special mention to our Pairs Team, who earned third place and will be moving on the Sectional Championships in December.

2022 Mini-Seminar

September 10, 2022

From 9 am-12 pm the Glen Cairn Skating Club hosted a "Mini-Seminar" to start off our 2022/2023 season with World Level coaches Paige Aistrop and Ernest Pryhitka from the Toronto Cricket Skating Club. On-ice sessions were held at Jack Charron Arena while off-ice classes were led by Dylan Harries at the Glen Cairn Community Centre.
